How have you already been volunteering or serving in the city?
Volunteered with the United Way. Volunteer youth soccer coach. Helped organize trash pick ups in the area.
If you are elected, how will you solicit input from areas of the city outside of where you live?
By using my Facebook page to reach out. I will check it every day to receive feedback on what the citizens like and don't like. What they need from the city council that they are not receiving.
How would you encourage more community engagement from young professionals?
More promotion. More exposure to the entire city. Creating seminars, and learning expos are two of the best ways to get engagement. Incentives for young professionals to start their own business, tax breaks. Supporting local business is a great way for Topeka to retain young talent, generate revenue, and increase population for the city.
What do you believe the role of the City Council should be in the development and support of the city's cultural and economic infrastructure for young professionals?
The city council's role should be to remove roadblocks for young professionals. Encouraging the expansion of locally owned businesses through tax break and incentives for staying in the city. Grants for businesses to help get off the ground. This could lead to more successful local businesses, therefore retaining local talent.

Goal 1
Lowering taxes. We are one of the highest taxed cities/counties in the entire country with nothing to show for it. Furthermore, I would make sure we are spending our tax money more wisely. For instance helping local businesses succeed through grants.
Goal 2
More community involvement with police. A safer environment will lower crime, and intice more people to stay in Topeka and thrive, build families.
Goal 3
Fix the problems with the roads in Topeka. We are in the top 10 worst roads in America when adjusting for size. This must end, especially with how how highly taxed we are.

Are there any new or existing programs you would start, end, or expand? If yes, please explain.
I would love to get a program to get the local police to talk to elementary school kids, where they can learn and ask questions. This will help build a safer, more trusting community in the years to come.
