If you are appointed to Council, list three goals you would like to see the City achieve during your term.
If you are appointed to Council, list three goals you would like to see the City achieve during your term.
Goal 1
Fix our streets and the infrastructure that goes along with it.
Goal 2
Help unemployed Topekans who want to work find jobs within Topeka.
Goal 3
Get Topeka's police department and fire department to full staffing with qualified candidates and trained so they can serve the citizens of Topeka better than they ever have before.
Are there any new or existing programs you would start, end, or expand? If yes, please explain.
I would eliminate the city's involvement with the scooter program. To me it is a lawsuit waiting to happen. These scooters are left blocking sidewalks and sidewalk entry from crosswalks. Unfortunately I've seen a person with a walker and a person using a power wheelchair on different occasions in different areas of Topeka be blocked from accessing and using sidewalks fully due to these scooter being placed in a way that blocks their path after they've been used.
Potentially someone could trip over a scooter or crash a bicycle into one of the misplaced scooters at night in a dark area.
